On July 13, Liu Guangying, Vice President of CDT, met with Marc Courtemanche, President of Equinor China and his team at CDT headquarter. The two parties conducted in-depth exchanges and reached consensus on strengthening business cooperation and jointly developing domestic and overseas projects.
Liu Guangying briefed the visitors on the overall situation of CDT and its endeavors in voluntary emission reductions and transition to renewable energy development in order to reach the "dual carbon" goal. He stated that as a practitioner of the Belt and Road initiative, China Datang will adhere to green low-carbon development and high-quality development. He hoped to further discuss with Equinor on renewable energy opportunities, especially offshore wind power projects, so that the two parties can reach "dual carbon" target earliest.
Marc Courtemanche fully recognized China Datang's strength and determination in the development of new energy projects and introduced Equinor's latest energy transition policy as well as emission reduction targets.
The two sides expressed their willingness to collaborate in low-carbon energy technologies including wind power, photovoltaics, hydrogen energy and carbon capture technology.
Equinor is the world's third largest oil exporter, with branches or R&D centers across 30 countries and operations all over the world. In 2009 and 2018, it invested and constructed the world's first offshore floating wind power project and the world's first commercial offshore floating wind power project respectively.
