On March 29, CSG held a teleconference on a new round of projects to upgrade and transform rural power grids in implementing the State Council’s corresponding order and guidance. At the conference, CSG remobilized and redeployed the upgrading work to ensure the completion of the new round of upgrading. Power supply companies at and above county level attended the conference.
It was stressed at the conference that departments and units at all levels should bring their thinking and practice in line with the policy of the Party Central Committee and the State Council and try their best to upgrade and transform rural power grids. According to the orders of the State Council, during the 13th Five-Year Plan period, CSG will increase its investment in upgrading rural power grids with a total amount of over RMB 130 billion yuan and will build a safe, reliable, reasonably structured and moderately advanced rural distribution network by 2020. In 2016 and 2017, CSG will invest RMB 27 billion yuan in upgrading the power grids of small towns and central villages and RMB 900 million yuan in delivering electricity to pumped wells. In 2016, CSG will try to fulfill over 50% of the above investment.
