GD Power Development Co., Ltd. Initiated Phase II of the Xiangshan-1 Offshore Wind Farm Project in Zhoushan

On September 20, Zhejiang Zhoushan Offshore Wind Power Development Company, a subsidiary of GD Power Development Co., Ltd. under CHN Energy, participated in the Zhejiang provincial promotional meeting on marine resource development. The company signed a cooperation agreement with Xiangshan County government to push forward the second phase of the Xiangshan-1 Offshore Wind Farm project.

The second phase of the Xiangshan-1 Offshore Wind Farm is the third project launched by Zhoushan Offshore Wind Power Development Company. Located in the waters southeast to the coast of Shipu Town of Xiangshan County, Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, it is Zhejiang’s key project in the offshore wind power blueprint with a planned capacity of 504,000 kilowatts. When completed, the project’s annual on-grid power will be about 1.64 billion kWh, which will be of great significance for adjusting energy structure and upgrading the industrial structure of Zhejiang Province, as well as promoting the high-quality development of local economy in Xiangshan County.

At present, the company has completed Putuo-6 Wind Farm and the first phase of Xiangshan-1 Wind Farm, which have begun operation, with a total installed capacity of 506,200 kilowatts. During the construction of Putuo-6 Wind Farm, a large-capacity and large-scale project, the company overcame difficulties of severe marine conditions with deep and thick mire and frequent typhoons. It was the first in China to develop a set of technology for building an offshore wind power plant in sea areas with thick mire and strong typhoons. It was the first time that a foundation with high piles and high platforms was used to reduce the impact of waves, and the technology of integral hoisting of load-bearing towing offshore fan was adopted. All these innovations contribute to promoting China’s construction technology of offshore wind power plant to the world’s leading level.
