Longyuan Power Constructs China’s First State-class New Energy Cyber Range

Zhongneng Power-Tech Development Co., Ltd. under Longyuan Power, a subsidiary of China Energy Investment Corporation, was approved by the National Energy Administration on May 5 to construct China’s first state-class new energy cyber range, with an aim to effectively enhance the cyber security level of the country’s new energy industry.

The state-class power cyber range will provide services such as cyber-attack defense exercises, technology development, product testing, and professional training for energy enterprises. Through combining virtual environment and real equipment, the cyber range can create a highly simulated cyber-attack defense environment to support studies on resisting attacks in cyberspace.

Construction of the new energy cyber range can further ensure the stable operation of the power system and reliable power supply. Moreover, it can be used in multiple industries to enhance cyber security capacity, improve technicians’ cyber safety awareness and skills, and promote cross-sectoral coordinated development.
