The Xingshan County Sewage Treatment and Infrastructure Project, a private-public-partnership program built by China Three Gorges Corp. (CTG)'s Base Development Company, resumed work on March 14, making it the first Yangtze River protection project that CTG has restored work in Hubei province.
More than 40 employees from project operator, construction and supervision units had been on duty and the company plans to recruit up to 80 construction workers locally to meet the demand in three days. Other sub-projects of Xingshan County Sewage Treatment Plant Project will resume construction in sequence.
The project, located along the Xiangxi river, a tributary of the Yangtze River, is not only the largest construction project ever invested in Xingshan county, but also an important ecological project to protect the beautiful Xiangxi river and the Yangtze River.
