China Three Gorges International Corporation (CTGI), the international business arm of CTG, has fostered cultural and people-to-people exchanges between the company and the communities where it operates since its establishment 10 years ago as part of its efforts to promote overseas cultural communications through various channels.

CTGI regularly organizes employees at its headquarters and regional companies to celebrate Chinese traditional festivals as well as traditional festivals in the countries and regions where it operates, and introduces their respective cultural traditions and customs.

On the evening of May 29, 2019, the National Ballet of China performed the classic ballet Raise the Red Lantern in Sao Paulo, Brazil, presenting to the local people a wonderful show brimming with Chinese elements.

The ceramic art exhibition White and Blue | Bai Ming – Lisbon was unveiled at the Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology (MAAT) in Lisbon, Portugal on July 11, 2017. The exhibition, organized by CTG and EDP Group, is the outcome of friendly cooperation between the two parties on cultural programs, echoing the 500-year history of economic and cultural exchanges between China and Portugal in the form of ceramics and other artworks.

Since 2016, Three Gorges Wind Farm (Pakistan) Company has donated teaching facilities, such as desks, chairs and stationery, as well as fans, lighting equipment and water supply equipment to 10 local primary and secondary schools, improving the quality of teaching there.

China Three Gorges (Europe) S.A. has set up a special scholarship. Since 2016, it has been funding excellent Portuguese university students to study postgraduate courses in China. This initiative helps them enhance their understanding of Chinese culture and promotes the organic integration of Chinese and foreign cultures.

China Three Gorges South Asia Investment Ltd (CSAIL) offers scholarships like the 2 + 2 Common Education Scholarship Program for bachelors of electrical engineering in Pakistan, aiding local education.

In 2021, WindMW GmbH has donated to non-profit organizations like the Association of Disabled Children and Youth in Bremerhaven and its surrounding areas as well as Erika Müller Bremen Angel Foundation, with the aim of helping give sick children access to proper treatment and promoting equal education for disabled children.

China Three Gorges BrasilEnergia Ltda. (CTG Brasil) launched the 2021 Fun Reading program, which includes a donation of 1,000 books to 12 reading rooms and training for 36 reading instructors in Brasil. The project aims to create a comfortable reading environment for children living near the power station, help them cultivate reading habits and abilities, and enable them to savor the joy of reading and love reading.

Cultural integration

CTG Brasil launched the cultural integration program We in 2016. By holding activities ranging from lectures and cross-cultural competence assessment to case studies and role-playing activities, the program has facilitated the mutual understanding between over 100 employees from China and Brazil, and eliminated stereotypes about each other.
