Longyuan Power’s Hedingshan Wind Farm Maintains Safe Production for 8,000 Days-1

Hedingshan Wind Farm

Hedingshan Wind Farm began operation on December 1, 1998, as one of the four largest wind farms in China at that time. After completion of its phase-II project, reconstruction after two severe typhoons and technical upgrading, the wind farm now operates four types of wind turbines, with a total installed capacity of 18,100 kW. To date, it has withstood more than 70 typhoons at various levels, establishing the famous “Zhejiang Longyuan model” for resisting typhoons.

Since its inception, Hedingshan Wind Farm has adhered to the principle of “putting safety first, prioritizing prevention and sticking to integrated management” and implemented a strict accountability system for safe production. Following China Energy’s No.1 document on production safety and environmental protection and arrangements for relevant risk management and control, the wind farm has established a regular safety risk management and control mechanism with focus on meticulously controlling and scanning safety risks and optimizing operation, maintenance and repair procedures, so as to integrate potential risk scanning and safety risk management and control, build a three-dimensional safety “accountability chain” and ensure healthy operation of wind turbines from the source.

Through measures such as technical supervision, fine maintenance and technical upgrading, it has ensured the stable operation of equipment and economy. It has also renovated braking devices of wind turbines, set up a technical system for refined generator bearing management, and conducted several technical upgrades and reforms such as renewing generator bearing dismantling tools. Those measures help maximally prevent wind turbines from being damaged in hurricanes and effectively enhance the equipment’s safety and reliability in times of natural disasters, reducing the malefaction incidence rate to 15 percent and increasing the amount of electricity power generated by 185,000 kWh.

The wind farm regularly carries out emergency training and exercises to respond to typhoons and other disasters, effectively stimulates the staff members’ enthusiasm about learning, and constantly improves their awareness of safety risks and emergency response capabilities, in a bid to enhance its response to natural disasters such as low temperature, heavy rain and snowstorms.
