Wen Shugang in Russia and Spain

China Huadian Board Member, President, Deputy Party Leaership Group Secretary Wen Shugang went to Spain for investigation and Russia for the commissioning ceremony of Teninskaya power station on 15-22 June. 

While in Russia, Wen Shugang addressed the ceremony celebrating the commission of the Teninskaya power station. In his speech, he expressed his gratitude on behalf of China Huadian to the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, Yaroslavl Oblast government, Russian shareholders and construction companies. He said that China Huadian will continue its “Going Global” strategy and expand presence in Russian as well as across globe as an active response to the state’s Belt and Road initiative. China Huadian will also promote cooperation with Russia in energy sector for the well-being of two peoples, according to President Wen.  

Acting governor of the Yaroslavl Oblast Dmitry Mironov, Russian Deputy Energy Minister Kirill Molodtsov, and Minister counsellor of the economic and commercial office of Chinese embassy in Russia Li Jingyuan attended the ceremony. The completion of the project is widely congratulated and hailed as a significant step in further deepening energy cooperation between the two countries.

Wen Shugang also met with Chinese ambassador in Russia Li Hui and minister counsellor Li Jingyuan and Russian Deputy Energy Minister Kravchenko in Moscow and talked to them about China Huadian strategy and international business. He said that China Huadian had already carried out business in many countries using multiple approaches. He also highlighted that Teninskaya combined heat and power station is the largest power supply project invested by a Chinese enterprise in Russia and the station will relieve local power shortages by supplying stable, efficient and reliable electricity and heat and provide jobs as well.

Ambassador Li Hui and Minister counsellor Li Jingyuan welcomed Wen Shugang and his delegation in Moscow. Li Hui told Wen that he encouraged China Huadian to secure more new projects in Russian power market and that the embassy will provide more support. Deputy Energy Minister Kravchenko Vyacheslav also welcomed China Huadian to increase investment and make contributions to the cooperation between two countries.  

While in Spain, Wen Shugang and his team met with Markus Tacke, CEO, Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy and researched Spanish power market.

Wen Shugang investigated Barchin wind farm and reviewed operator’s work report on project main control, spare parts storage and daily operation and management. Wen Shugang appraised their efforts and encouraged them to better manage the wind farm in the future.  

During his meeting with Markus Tacke, Wen Shugang sent his gratitude for the great support from Siemens Gamesa and introduced about China Huadian and its development plan. He hoped that two companies will strengthen exchanges and expand cooperation in wind power, especially offshore wind power. Markus Tacke talked about Siemens Gamesa onshore and offshore wind power business.

Wen Shugang also visited Iberdrola control center in Toledo and had meeting with Lazard team on Spanish and European electricity markets.
