He added that the goals should also be, “To jointly build a road of prosperity, on the one side, all power enterprises in the region need to support each other and boost cooperation in the development of the grand bay area of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau. On the other side, they ought to work together to expand the overseas market while keep consolidating the cooperative partnership. To jointly build a road of opening up, it requires a continuous enhancement in capital openness and regional power trade, as well as stronger security in clean energy for the region. To jointly build a road of innovation, an all-around cooperation in various aspects of developing smart grid, such as energy connection, user interaction, information sharing and smart home, is necessary with the aim to realize innovative sustainable development and promote the construction of smart cities. To jointly build a road of connecting different civilizations, a high-level communication mechanism has been established and visits of different levels have been conducted under the mechanism with fruitful results. It is encouraged to continuously improve the mechanism and promote cultural integration for the development of enterprises”.

During his concluding comments, Chairman Li offered several proposals on how to “enhance the value and influence of this summit and deepen the cooperation under the initiative of the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation. First,  industries need to seize opportunities to seek new ground for deeper cooperation to achieve win-win outcomes. Second, relevant parties should set up more communication mechanisms concerning management and technology under the summit mechanism. With the establishment of the exchange mechanism on cyber security this year, it is time to expand to other fields such as lean management and scientific and technological innovation in pursuit of common sustainable development.Third, all sides need to keep enhancing the value and influence of the Summit in an effort to boost social and economic development of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau”.
