Shenzhen Building China

Shenzhen - On Tuesday May 12, the construction of China's first charging station for electric construction vehicles was opened in Gongchang Road, Guangming District, Shenzhen.
Once completed, this station, for which China Southern Power Grid contributed as a major investor, will be able to power 600 pure-electric dump trucks within its reach of 20 kilometers. With that, Shenzhen can ramp up electrifying construction vehicles in the city which works in promoting a green and low-carbon way of life and work and emerging as a pilot demonstration area for the country.
After electrifying all of its buses and taxis, Shenzhen is now moving on to construction vehicles, of which dump trucks are the typical kind. By the end of April 2020, the number of electric dump trucks in operation reached more than 3,700 in the city, where dump trucks have become one of the main vehicles that transport construction waste. It is estimated that the carbon emission of one fuel-fired dump truck is numerically equivalent to that of 70 private cars.
The use of 600 electric dump trucks is expected to save 24 million liters of fuel per year - equal to 62,000 tons of reduced CO2 emissions.
During the first four months of this year, CSG invested more than 738 million RMB in building or completing 520 small and medium-sized EV fast charging stations and 5,239 charging posts with a total capacity of more than 280 MW.
In total, China Southern Power Grid is projected to invest 1.2 billion RMB throughout the year to build more than 10,000 charging posts for public, dedicated, logistic, residential, shore power, and other uses.
China Southern Power Gird senior managers are expected to allocate  further investment plans during the 14th Five-Year Plan of the country, including:
·An additional 2.51 billion RMB in the construction of EV charging facilities, and
·150 large-scale public charging stations and 380,000 charging posts, more than 10 times the current number.
The project will ultimately stimulate an estimated 200 billion RMB of investment in power grid building, components and equipment manufacturing, operation and maintenance, vehicle sales and after-sales service and other related sectors.
