The International Standard in Disinfectants Corrosion Led by Huaneng Released Officially

On March 16th , learned from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), the international standard, Corrosion of Metals and Alloys - Overview of Metal Corrosion Protection When Using Disinfectants (ISO/TR 7655:2022), led by Huaneng Xi'an Thermal Power Research Institute (TPRI) was released officially.

This is the first international standard in disinfectants corrosion initiated by China Huaneng Group. Filling the void in this field, it is Huaneng’s another breakthrough in international standardization.

In October 2020, TPRI formed and initiated a working team on corrosion test method for disinfectant, jointly participated by experts from France, the United States, the United Kingdom, South Korea, the Czech Republic and etc. As the leading role of this project, TPRI carried out series of international standard researches in the area of metals corrosion from disinfectants.

The official release of this international standard has provided protection guidance to solve problems of metals corrosion from disinfectants, setting up precautions against the potential dangers and risks stemmed from the improper use of disinfectants. It has also put forward general requirements of metals and alloys anti-corrosion for relevant organizations, families and individuals when using disinfectants, and corresponding anti-corrosion protection methods and implementation guidelines. Under the global backdrop of COVID-19, it is of strong guiding significance to the international community for safely using disinfectants.
