Recently, the CSG 13th Five-Year Development Plan for Electric Vehicle Charging Facilities (hereinafter referred to as the Plan) was accomplished and approved unanimously by the expert panel. According to the Plan, by 2020, CSG’s overall investment in electric vehicles (EVs) charging facilities will exceed RMB 3 billion yuan, constructing 674 centralized charging stations and 25,000 distributed public charging posts. Public charging services in the central parts of Guangzhou and Shenzhen will be available within one kilometer’s reach. At the same time, CSG will accelerate the development of the intelligent EV charging service platform both at the provincial level and across the whole power grid.

The Plan clearly states that efforts will be mainly channeled into six aspects during the 13th Five-Year Plan period. First, CSG will gradually improve the urban public charging network at all levels, equipping every city with public fast-charging stations. Second, CSG will vigorously boost the development of inter-city fast-charging network in key areas, realizing its full coverage in Guangdong and Hainan Provinces. Third, CSG will popularize charging facilities within the company, by gradually replacing some of the company cars and line-patrol vehicles with EVs, and at the same time encouraging more staff to buy and use EVs. Fourth, CSG will plan for optimal layout of public services and play an active role in collaborative projects funded by governments and private sectors. Fifth, it will promote the establishment of the Internet Plus charging service system and service platform, so as to achieve unified management, service and settlement with the same brand image. Sixth, CSG will improve its supporting facilities and services of power grids so that the charging facilities could have easy access to the power grids; the company will be in charge of the development, operation and maintenance of the supporting projects that link the demarcation point of charging facilities with the power grids.

Through speeding up the construction of charging infrastructure, CSG manifests its attempts to fulfill its social responsibilities, to pursue the best in its main businesses and to seek diversity in business operation. During the 12th Five-Year Plan period, CSG carried out a series of researches and practices. By the end of last year, CSG had built 13 charging and battery-swap stations, 1 experience center, 90 DC charging units and 2,963 AC charging posts in total within the five provinces of southern China, providing 3.53 million times charging and battery swap services with a total electricity volume of 98.04 GWh.
