Ugandan Central Executive Committee Member Stephen Tashobya Leads an African Delegation to Visit CSG

Guangzhou - Mr. Stephen Tashobya and Mr. Nathan Nabeta, members of the Kampala-based Ugandan Central Executive Committee, led a visiting delegation from this Central African nation, to China Southern Power Grid at its world headquarters here.

The duo visited the exhibition hall and CSG Power Dispatching and Control Center and held extensive and in-depth discussions with CSG's International Cooperation Department and CSG International Co., Ltd. on power cooperation.

Mr. Tashobya said that, “given the high electricity costs and high comprehensive line loss rate in Uganda, the government wants to engage a qualified and competent grid company in the investment and operation of Uganda's power transmission and distribution so as to reduce the sales rate of electricity”.

Mr. Tashobya said that he has learned that, “China Southern Power Grid is a significant power grid company with advanced technology as well as rich experience in operation and management”.

He expressed his hope that through this visit and additional interactions, the two sides, “can reach a consensus on cooperation so that CSG can participate in Uganda's power investment and operation and help the Ugandan government to analyze and take a planning for its power industry as soon as possible”.

The head of CSG's International Cooperation Department said that in recent years, CSG has been expanding its overseas investments - with emphasis in the emerging nations of Africa which is also one of the potential investment “destinations” for China Southern Power Grid as the Company is willing to share and provide technical services to assist the Ugandan government in making a fair assessment of its energy needs and based upon the sincere invitation of the Ugandan government.

China Southern Power Grid will send a professional team of senior managers, organized by CSG International Co., Ltd., to investigate the energy and electrical “state of affairs” in the Ugandan capital city of Kampala and throughout the nation, as well as exploring the varied investment opportunities in Uganda.

It is hoped that the two sides will enhance their mutually beneficial communication and friendly exchanges while further expanding future opportunities.
