CSG and KEPCO Renews MOU

From October 11 to 14, CSG President Cao Zhi’an, visited Korea Electric Power Corporation and attended the regular dialogue. On Oct 12, Cao Zhian and Hwan-Ik Cho renewed the MOU at Kim Dae-jung Centre in Gwangju. Both sides will take this opportunity to push forward more pragmatic cooperation.

Before the signing ceremony Cao and Cho had a bilateral meeting. Cao expressed delight in visiting KEPCO and mentioned that CSG had a wealth of experience in power grid operation especially HVDC while KEPCO excelled at power grid construction and overseas market development. He hoped that both parties can seek more cooperation opportunities under the Belt and Road initiate.

Cho said that the KEPCP had an advantage in information and communication technology and right now the competition for overseas markets had been fierce. He hoped that CSG and KEPCO could strengthen cooperation, be complementary of each other and seek joint development.

This was the 5th regular dialogue of two sides. At the conference KEPCO briefed on power distribution systems, emergency restoration centers and smart meters. CSG officials from the Planning Department made a speech titled CSG’s Smart Grid Development and Outlook.

Cao and the delegates also visited KEPCO’s new new headquarters, the call center in Seoul, distribution dispatch center and substations. CSG officials from the Planning and International Department were also on the team.
