China Energy Releases 2019 CSR Report

China Energy Investment Corporation (China Energy) released its 2019 Corporate Social Responsibility Report on June 29, which objectively and comprehensively unveils the key information about how China Energy performed its economic, environmental and social responsibilities in 2019 from the perspectives of providing clean energy, creating shared value for clients, suppliers and employees, promoting people-centered employee development, and improving people’s livelihood.

The CSR report is an important bridge linking China Energy and its stakeholders, as well as a major carrier for information disclosure. The 2019 CSR Report of China Energy Investment Corporation is the third such document compiled by the company since its reorganization. The report has been cited as a five-star report, the highest level, by the Chinese Expert Committee on CSR Report Rating, topping its Chinese peers.

Compared with previous years, the report added a new part themed on “Supporting and Guaranteeing Supplies to Win the Battle against the Epidemic.” It also further explored the social responsibilities of China Energy, and demonstrated the corporation’s role as a main force to safeguard blue skies through focusing on clean, high-efficiency utilization of coal and reducing emissions of coal-fired power generation. It also showcased the corporation’s efforts in advancing safe, clean and efficient exploration of coal resources, protecting the ecological environment, promoting scientific underground mining, and accelerating the building of an ecological civilization. It reflected China Energy’s responsibility to strive to achieve harmonious coexistence between mankind and nature and the balance between economic development and ecological progress while upholding the principle of putting people first and creating economic value.
