In the past few days, areas from the east of southwest China to the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River have been suffering from heavy rainfall due to the wet season, which has led to severe flooding and geological disasters.

On July 10, State Grid held an emergency meeting on flood control and disaster relief to ensure power grid security.

State Grid Chairman Mao Weiming emphasized that all departments and subsidiaries of the company should stress high political stance, conduct flood control and disaster relief while containing the epidemic, and give priority to the safety of people's lives. All staff should be well prepared for bigger floods and disasters, be well aware of the situation, shoulder their responsibilities, make rigorous emergency plans, get ready to take any action, and go all out to maintain the order of production and life and ensure the sound operation of the power grid, so as to meet the expectation of the central government and the people.

Mao Weiming required all-round efforts to maintain the safety of the power grid, construction sites and reservoir dams, carry out timely and effective response to emergency, and ensure that all staff do their part. He asked all in the company to enhance the consciousness of safety, fully implement flood control measures, and secure the victory in tough battle against floods as always.
